Sri Lanka, April 16 -- The Chinese Embassy in India has issued more than 85,000 visas to Indian citizens between January 1st and April 9th, 2025, foreign media reported.

The move is seen as a significant step towards strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Fei Hong noted that the Chinese Embassy and Consulates across India have facilitated the process for thousands of travelers during this period.

In a post on social media platform X, Ambassador Xu stated, "We welcome more Indian friends to come to China to experience an open, safe, vibrant, honest, and friendly China."
