Sri Lanka, April 17 -- China has reportedly imposed a temporary ban on the delivery of Boeing aircraft to its domestic airlines, signalling a further heightening of trade tensions with the United States.
The news was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources with knowledge of the matter.
In addition to stopping aircraft deliveries, Beijing has also reportedly instructed domestic airlines to suspend all purchases of aviation-related equipment and parts from American companies.
This action follows the recent decision by US President Donald Trump to increase import tariffs on the majority of Chinese goods to 145 percent.
In response, China implemented its own tariffs of 125 percent on American products.
