Sri Lanka, June 15 -- A nine-year-old child has tragically died in Anuradhapura after being dragged for approximately 800 metres by a cow.
The incident occurred on Friday (13).
Imash Devidu was playing with a neighbour's cow in Viharapalugama, along with several friends, when the animal reportedly became restless and ran onto the road.
The rope around the cow's neck became entangled in the child's body, causing him to be dragged and sustain severe injuries.
Imash was admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital in a critical condition and was placed in intensive care.
Hospital sources confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries yesterday (14), around 3 PM, while undergoing treatment after surgery.
