Sri Lanka, Dec. 29 -- Train services between Colombo Fort and Chilaw, which were temporarily suspended due to bad weather, will resume from tomorrow (29), the Department of Railways has announced.
Operations on this route were halted in late November after heavy rains washed away part of the railway near the Kaduppi Oya bridge, between the Small Wewa and Madampe stations. As a result, five train sets were stranded at Chilaw, and services had been limited only up to Nattandiya.
The railways have now completed the necessary repairs. Accordingly, trains from Chilaw, to Colombo Fort will run on the following schedule:
4:20 a.m. - 7:05 a.m.
4:50 a.m. - 7:40 a.m.
5:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
5:50 a.m. - 8:20 a.m.
6:10 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
