Sri Lanka, May 13 -- Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has been fined 10% of her match fee for violating Level 1 of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Code of Conduct during Friday's Women's Tri-series match against South Africa in Colombo.
Athapaththu was found to have breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, concerning "abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match."
Accordingly, 1 demerit point has also been added to her disciplinary record, marking her first offence in 24 months.
