Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Ceylon Electricity Board unions, who are currently on sick leave, is set to decide on their next steps today (18).
This is according to the president of the Electricity Engineers and Superintendents' Union, N.P.S. Sampath.
The union's primary demand is to have a discussion with the President.
Although the demands have been submitted to the ministry, a proper response has not been received.
According to the union president, the decision made by the unions today could likely be a strike.
He added that the purpose of the action is not only to win their professional rights but also to correct the shortcomings in the restructuring plan of the Electricity Board.
