Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- The sick-leave campaign launched by electricity employees against the restructuring of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is continuing today (18). This is in parallel with an ongoing work-to-rule campaign.

Trade unions state that their demands have not yet received a favourable response from the government. Yesterday afternoon (17), a group of CEB employees who had reported sick leave gathered to protest in front of the main CEB office.

Meanwhile, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that public consultation on the third electricity tariff revision for this year will begin today. The proposed increase is 6.8%.
