Sri Lanka, Feb. 24 -- The Central Environmental Authority ordered an immediate halt to all preliminary preparations for the proposed international cricket stadium and sports complex on Mandaitivu Island, Jaffna.

This decision follows the failure to complete the mandatory Environmental Impact Assessment process required before project commencement.
