Sri Lanka, May 26 -- The Colombo Magistrate's Court has ordered the postponement of the case against former MP Wimal Weerawansa and six others to the 23rd of June.
The case, which was taken up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Tanuja Lakmali today (26) relates to an incident where roads were blocked and a protest was staged in front of the UN office in Thummulla, Colombo in 2016.
This occurred during the visit of the then UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Prince Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein.
The postponement was granted after the junior counsel, appearing for the defence, requested a new date due to the President's Counsel appearing for the defendant falling ill.
