Sri Lanka, Nov. 4 -- Policy approval was granted to recruit female officers for the posts of Railway Engine Driver, Railway Guard, Railway Station Master, and Railway Supervisory Manager.
Minister Nalinda Jayatissa announced this at the Cabinet decisions media briefing.
Recruiting female officers for these posts in the Sri Lanka Railways Department marks a significant change for the country's railway service, which boasts a history of around 165 years. The railway service operates through the collective effort assigned to various positions within the Department.
