Sri Lanka, March 4 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal to grant 219.7233 hectares of land to the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority for the implementation of a 100 MW solar power project at Siyabalanduwa.
This project is part of the government's plan to meet 70% of the country's electricity demand from renewable energy sources by 2030. The identified land, which is not used for farming or other cultivation, will facilitate the swift commencement of the solar power garden project.
The grant of land will support the strategic goals of the renewable energy initiative and contribute to the country's long-term energy sustainability.
