Sri Lanka, March 5 -- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra announced that the Cabinet has approved the Korean E-8 visa, enabling workers to be sent to Korea under this category.
Speaking at the Public Day event at the Foreign Employment Bureau yesterday, Hemachandra confirmed that the government is now actively facilitating the dispatch of workers to Korea under the approved visa category.
The approval follows controversy surrounding the previous government, where former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara was accused of sending workers to Korea under the E-8 visa without Cabinet consent.
Hemachandra reassured that workers will now be able to travel without having to pay money to intermediaries.
