SriLanka, Nov. 7 -- The Cabinet has given its approval for the 2026 National Budget to be presented to Parliament.
The Budget for the year 2026 is scheduled to be delivered by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, at 1.30 this afternoon (07).
This marks the second budget of the National People's Power (NPP) administration.
The Appropriation Bill for 2026 was first tabled in Parliament on September 25.
According to the draft bill, the government's estimated expenditure for 2026 is Rs. 4,545 billion.
This represents a reduction of Rs. 71 billion compared to the estimated expenditure for 2025.
