Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority, or CAA, has conducted a series of raids in Pettah, confiscating a substantial amount of hazardous cosmetics and non-compliant food products.
The operation targeted various cosmetic and food shops in the area.
Officials discovered a number of unauthorised whitening creams and unregistered cosmetic items, which present considerable health hazards to the public.
Additionally, large quantities of imported chocolates were seized due to a lack of proper labelling, expiry dates, and ingredient information, a direct violation of consumer protection laws.
