Sri Lanka, Feb. 11 -- The National Transport Commission has instructed the North Central and North Western Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority to suspend the operations of both buses involved in a fatal accident in the Thoraya area of Kurunegala, which resulted in four deaths and 34 injuries.

Further action regarding the bus permits will be taken following a formal investigation.

The accident occurred when a bus traveling from Melsiripura to Kurunegala, while stopped to pick up passengers, collided with another private bus traveling from Maduru Oya to Colombo.
