Sri Lanka, Feb. 11 -- Police investigations have revealed that the bus responsible for the accident in the Thoraya area of Kurunegala, which claimed four lives, was traveling at approximately 90 km/h.

According to Police Media Spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manatunga, the bus had reached Thoraya from Kaduruwela in under two hours.

Five of the critically injured victims remain in the Intensive Care Unit of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.

The accident occurred yesterday morning when a private bus parked at a bus stop was hit by another private bus. Among the deceased was the conductor of the bus that caused the crash, while 28 others sustained injuries.
