Sri Lanka, June 28 -- The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced that wearing safety seatbelts will be mandatory for all bus drivers starting from July 1.

NTC Chairman, Engineer P.A. Chandrapala, stated at a press conference in Colombo yesterday (27), that strict legal action will be taken against drivers who fail to comply with this new regulation. This measure is aimed at enhancing road safety and reducing the risk of injuries in the event of an accident.
