Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- A tragic bus accident in southern Mexico early Saturday morning claimed the lives of 41 people, according to a statement from the government of Tabasco state. Recovery efforts are still ongoing.
The bus, carrying 48 passengers, collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of 38 passengers and two bus drivers, while the truck driver also perished.
Images from the scene show the bus completely burned out, with only its skeletal metal frame remaining. Local security sources reported that only 18 skulls have been recovered so far, with many more bodies yet to be identified.
