Srilanka, Nov. 16 -- A bus carrying a group of pilgrims suddenly caught fire today (16) in Galkulama, Thrippane.

The bus was reportedly travelling from the Gampola area towards Anuradhapura.

Police confirmed that there were about 12 individuals on board at the time of the incident, including the driver and conductor.

Fortunately, no one sustained any injuries.

However, the bus suffered severe damage due to the fire.

The driver and conductor acted quickly to stop the bus and safely evacuate all the passengers immediately after the fire started.

Area residents and police gathered upon hearing the passengers' shouts and managed to extinguish the fire.
