Sri Lanka, Feb. 12 -- India suffered a major blow ahead of the Champions Trophy as Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament due to a lingering back injury. Despite undergoing scans in Bengaluru over the weekend, which did not reveal a severe issue, Bumrah is still not ready to return to bowling. His progress will be monitored by the BCCI's medical team, with a tentative plan for him to resume running in a couple of weeks.
This marks the second ICC tournament Bumrah will miss due to injury, following his absence from the 2022 T20 World Cup.
