Sri Lanka, June 26 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) announced that it will prosecute former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

He faces charges of defrauding the state of millions of rupees and endangering patient lives.

These allegations stem from the fraudulent import and distribution of immunoglobulin and Rituximab antibody injections (used for cancer patients), which were allegedly procured using fake documents under an Indian credit line and then distributed to government hospitals.

Deputy Solicitor General on June 19 informed the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court that nearly Rs. 140 million had been spent, based on a Cabinet paper submitted by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwel...
