Sri Lanka, July 22 -- The Bribery Commission informed the Colombo Magistrate's Court today (22), that there is no immediate necessity to arrest former Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Rohan Premaratne.

This statement was made in connection with an ongoing investigation by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The announcement came during the hearing of an anticipatory bail petition filed by Rohan Premaratne, who sought to be released on anticipatory bail before any potential arrest.

The officer representing the Bribery Commission conveyed this to the court.
