SriLanka, Nov. 17 -- A pioneering global clinical trial led by Sri Lankan medical researchers has resulted in the world's first three-in-one pill that reduces the risk of stroke recurrence. This pill has been approved by four leading global medical regulatory authorities and institutions.
Dr. Bimsara Senanayake, Senior Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital's Institute of Neurology, stated that this single-dose pill, which combines Telmisartan, Amlodipine, and Indapamide, can reduce the stroke risk by 60% compared to standard treatments.
The drug has been included in the World Health Organization's (WHO) Essential Medicines List. It has been incorporated into the guidelines of the American Heart Association (AHA).
