Sri Lanka, Jan. 23 -- The Chairmanship of the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka will be vacated by Arjuna Herath.

He confirmed during an inquiry that his tenure ends on the 31st of this month. Although he initially accepted the role for a limited duration at the government's request, he recently asked authorities for a release from his duties. Despite requests from officials to remain in the position, he cited personal reasons for his departure. With over three decades of experience in public and private sectors, he serves as a board member of the Colombo Stock Exchange and previously led the Sri Lanka Data Protection Authority.
