Srilanka, Dec. 3 -- The first consignment of disaster relief aid from Bangladesh has arrived in Sri Lanka.

The Bangladesh Air Force C-130 transport aircraft landed at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake this afternoon (03), at approximately 1:00 p.m.

The aircraft delivered 9,227 kilograms of essential supplies intended for communities affected by the recent adverse weather conditions. The vital cargo included medicines, dry food items, mosquito nets and search and rescue equipment.

The consignment was officially received at the airport by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka, Andalib Elias, along with other officials from the High Commission.
