Sri Lanka, June 20 -- Ranjith Udaya Kumara, who was elected Chairman of the Balangoda Pradeshiya Sabha representing the National People's Power (NPP), has resigned from his position.

Following his resignation, Suranga Ambagahatenna, the Returning Officer for the Balangoda Pradeshiya Sabha, issued a Gazette notification regarding the vacant council seat.

The Gazette proposes the name of Gama Athige Ariyadasa to fill the vacated membership.
