Sri Lanka, July 19 -- Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited has urged the public to refrain from flying kites in the vicinity of local airports.

The company stated that flying kites near airports poses a significant risk to aircraft and the lives of passengers.

They also warned that legal action could be taken against anyone flying kites above 300 feet, further emphasising the serious danger this activity presents to air safety.
