Sri Lanka, Jan. 29 -- Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium.
In terms of team news, Sri Lanka have gone with three spinners and just the lone seamer. Australia too have three spinners in their XI, as well as a red-ball debut for Josh Inglis who was presented his Baggy Green by Geoff Marsh earlier this morning - he'll be cap no. 470.
Pitch conditions have been affected by recent rain, with curators facing challenges in preparation. "There's no grass, but some moisture under the surface. Heaters and UV lights have been used over the past few days to dry up the pitch. 270 should be a good first innings total," observed Farveez Maharoof in his pitch report.
