Sri Lanka, Dec. 16 -- The Sri Lanka Army is currently carrying out the reconstruction of two bridges built across the Nayaru Lagoon in Mullaitivu, which were destroyed by Cyclone 'Ditwah'.

The destruction of these two bridges caused severe hardship to the residents of the Kokkilai area in Mullaitivu.

The restoration of the two bridges is being carried out by the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Services Corps. Labor for the reconstruction is being provided by troops from the 10th Sinha Regiment and the 12th Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment, under the command of the 591 Brigade, which falls under the 59 Division.

It is reported that the restoration work on one of the bridges is complete.
