Sri Lanka, May 10 -- Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo visited the Polonnaruwa General Hospital yesterday (9) to inquire about the well-being of the soldiers who sustained injuries in the Bell 212 helicopter crash.

The Army Media Unit reported that the Army Commander engaged in discussions with hospital authorities regarding the future medical treatment of the injured personnel.

The helicopter involved in the incident crashed into the Maduru Oya reservoir yesterday morning, resulting in the tragic deaths of four Army Special Forces soldiers and two Air Force soldiers.

As of yet, the cause of the helicopter crash has not been officially determined.
