Sri Lanka, Jan. 28 -- The Court of Appeal has scheduled a hearing on February 6 for the petition filed by former President Maithripala Sirisena, seeking a writ of certiorari to quash the private complaint filed against him in the Fort Magistrate's Court. The complaint accuses Sirisena of failing to prevent the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks despite prior intelligence warnings.

The case was reviewed today by Justices Dhammika Ganepola and Damith Thotawatte. However, due to the promotion of several judges from the original five-member bench, the petition will now be heard by a new panel of judges.
