Sri Lanka, Dec. 30 -- Two of the three power generators at the Norochcholai coal power plant remain out of operation.
A senior spokesperson from the plant informed Hiru News that despite this situation, hydropower generation currently meets demand, ensuring no disruptions to the power supply.
The second generator remained deactivated since November for scheduled maintenance required every three years.
Meanwhile, the first generator ceased functioning due to a technical fault in its boiler.
The shutdown of these two units resulted in a loss of 600 MW of electricity to the national grid.
