Sri Lanka, April 19 -- Vehicular movement has been severely disrupted along the Wellawaya-Beragala road, specifically in the Nikapotha area, due to a significant earthslip.

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has confirmed the incident and stated that authorities have been notified and are taking steps to remove the accumulated soil.

In the interim, the DMC is urging the public to utilise alternate routes to avoid inconvenience and ensure their safety.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative pathways until the affected stretch of road is cleared and declared safe for traffic.
