Sri Lanka, Jan. 5 -- Transport and Highways Minister Bimal Rathnayake has announced a nearly one-billion-dollar investment for 2026 to reconstruct roads devastated by Cyclone Ditwah and fund new construction projects.
The Minister confirmed that 486 million dollars are earmarked for repairing flood and landslide damage, noting that ninety-nine per cent of affected routes were restored within a month of the disaster.
Another USD 486 million will be used for new road construction.
