Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- Criminal gang member Ranjith Kumara, alias "Konda Ranji," was reportedly released by security forces in Dubai.
This development follows his recent arrest, along with his wife and children, while attempting to flee to Italy.
Dubai police released the suspect's wife and children shortly after the initial detention.
Kumara faces serious allegations in Sri Lanka, including the shooting of Sameera Manahara, a former coordinating secretary to the late Minister Mangala Samaraweera.
The suspect reportedly held a UAE "Golden Visa," a category that grants recipients high recognition and residency privileges within the Emirates.
