Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The United National Party, or UNP, has made the decision to invite all opposition political party leaders to its upcoming annual convention.

A preparatory meeting for the convention, which is set for the 6th of September, was held yesterday (31). A proposal from this meeting, along with another to reinstate former members whose memberships were suspended, is slated for submission at the party's Working Committee meeting on the 3rd of September.

In the coming days, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to personally extend invitations to the opposition leaders.
