Sri Lanka, Oct. 24 -- The Secretary of the All-Island School Teacher Development Officers' Association, Viraj Manaranga, states that Teacher Development Officers working across the entire school system will withdraw from academic activities starting next Monday (27).

He claims that even though they served as teachers for over six years, they have not been called for the teacher training programs being implemented under the current education reform proposals.

He added that while they were included in previous teacher training programs, they have not received an invitation this time. Manaranga lamented that they, who were dedicated to bringing many achievements to school children, have been neglected.
