Sri Lanka, May 16 -- Organisers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games are exploring the possibility of using air taxis to transport spectators, potentially offering a way to bypass the city's heavy traffic.

LA28, the organising committee, has announced a partnership with Archer Aviation, aiming to provide an air taxi service during both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Archer Aviation plans to deploy a fleet of aircraft to shuttle fans to and from various venues, LA28 announced yesterday (15).

The concept of flying taxis has been a long-held aspiration, with plans for a debut at the Paris 2024 Games ultimately falling through due to a lack of timely certification from Europe's air safety agency.
