Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- Ahimsa Wickramatunga, the daughter of murdered journalist Lasantha Wickramatunga, has written to Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya requesting the impeachment of the Attorney General.

In the letter, she condemned the Attorney General's recommendation to release three suspects in her father's murder case, calling it a severe abuse of power and neglect of duty.

Ahimsa Wickramatunga urged the Prime Minister to take action and initiate the impeachment process against the Attorney General.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General recently informed the Criminal Investigation Department in writing that three suspects in the murder of Lasantha Wickramatunga may be released.
