Sri Lanka, April 23 -- The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in most parts of the island after 1PM today. Fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 75mm in some locations, is likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Eastern, and Northern provinces.

The Met Department requests the public to take necessary precautions to minimise potential damage from temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
