Sri Lanka, May 3 -- The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers in several areas across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, Eastern, and North-central provinces after 1:00 p.m. today (3).

Some locations within the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces are likely to experience fairly heavy rainfall, potentially reaching around 75mm.

Showers or thundershowers may also occur in a few other places across the island during the afternoon or night.

There is also a chance of showers or thundershowers in the Western and Southern provinces, as well as in the Puttalam and Mannar districts, during the morning hours.
