Sri Lanka, May 3 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a severe lightning advisory for 12 districts.

Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely in several places in the Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Eastern provinces, as well as the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.

Temporary localised strong winds may also occur during these thundershowers. The general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by lightning.
