Sri Lanka, March 17 -- Former supermodel and actress Akushla Sellayah has passed away at the age of 67. She died yesterday afternoon.

Akushla made her film debut in 1978 with the Italian film "Slave of the Cannibal God" and went on to act in several local and international films. Her notable works include "Rampage" (1978), "Tarzan the Ape Man" (1981), "Thawalama" (1981), "Bandura Mal" (1981), "Ra Manamali" (1982), and "Hithath Hondai Vadath Hondai" (1983).

She gained significant popularity in 1985 for her role in the Sinhala remake of "Charlie's Angels" titled "Sura Doothiyo."

In addition to her acting career, Akushla ventured into the fashion industry, establishing herself as an internationally recognized model and actress.
