Sri Lanka, March 10 -- The acting OIC of the Jaffna Police Headquarters has been transferred to Mullaitivu following allegations that his son accepted a bribe of Rs. 20,000.
The OIC's son reportedly took the bribe from a drunk driver, claiming he could prevent his father from filing a case. Despite this, police proceeded with the case, resulting in a Rs. 25,000 fine and a nine-month driving license suspension for the driver.
The driver later reported the bribe to Jaffna Police. As the OIC failed to take action against his son during the investigation, the Jaffna DIG ordered his immediate transfer.
