Sri Lanka, Jan. 26 -- Thihagoda Police initiated a broad probe regarding a luxury motor vehicle left abandoned near the 140km post between Aparakka and Beliatta on the Southern Expressway. Road Development Authority officials alerted the Aparakka Expressway Traffic Police, who located the locked vehicle last night.

Preliminary inquiries revealed highly suspicious details concerning the car, which entered the highway via the Dodangoda interchange toward Mattala. While the vehicle displays a specific registration number, investigators found an identical number assigned to a white car owned by an individual in Ratnapura. The abandoned car is maroon, and police confirmed that the engine numbers of the two vehicles do not match.
