Sri Lanka, March 21 -- A Works Supervisor of the Kalutara Municipal Council who was found guilty of the allegation of accepting a bribe was sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment by the Colombo High Court today.

This was when the case was taken up for hearing in the presence of High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi.

This individual was taken into custody when on 23 December 2011 he attempted to accept a bribe of Rs. 15,000 on the premise that he was going to provide assistance to an insurance company to insure the existing vehicles at the Kalutara Municipal Council.
