Sri Lanka, July 11 -- 9 out of the 13 Deputy Director General positions at the Ministry of Health have reportedly been vacant for the past 5 years.
Sources within the Health Ministry state that due to these vacancies, the administration of all three national hospitals in Colombo, Galle, and Kandy is being handled by acting officials.
A senior official at the Ministry confirmed that the country's three main national hospitals currently lack permanent Deputy Director Generals, which is the highest position within a national hospital.
