Sri Lanka, June 20 -- Eighty-five Chinese nationals, who had been convicted of various offences, including computer and cybercrimes, were deported from Sri Lanka to their home country in the early hours of today (20).
These individuals were initially incarcerated in Sri Lanka after being found guilty by local courts.
Following a decision to deport them, they were transferred to the Immigration and Emigration Department's detention centre in Welisara.
The group was transported to Katunayake Airport in five buses. A special SriLankan Airlines flight then departed for Guangzhou, China, in the early hours of today (20), carrying the deportees.
