Sri Lanka, Jan. 26 -- The Government has so far disbursed Rs. 18 billion to households affected by Cyclone Ditwah, accounting for 84% of the Rs. 21.54 billion allocated for relief allowances, the President's Media Division (PMD) announced.

70% percent of the Rs. 50,000 allowance granted to families for purchasing essential household and kitchen items for resettlement has already been paid.

Out of 156,805 eligible families across 25 districts-entitled to a total of Rs. 7.84 billion-payments have been completed for 109,512 families, amounting to Rs. 5.47 billion.
