Sri Lanka, Jan. 26 -- A 74-year-old man died following an assault during an argument at a mediation board meeting held at a temple in Thihagoda, Matara, yesterday morning (25).
The Thihagoda Police stated that the incident occurred after two parties were summoned to the mediation board to resolve a dispute based on a complaint filed with the police.
An argument broke out between the two groups present at the temple, leading to an assault. The injured man was initially admitted to the Matara General Hospital in critical condition and later transferred to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
